Exchange Rate, 2008-2009 - The RAS Board of Trustees has established a policy addressing the MAD/$ exchange rate to help assure greater consistency in budgeting and operations. The exchange rate is also used to set the tuition exchange rate for the school year. Below are the tuition rates for 2008-2009 listed in both currencies. This rate will be used for tuition payments throughout the year.
One Time Registration Fee: $7,500 - 57,225 MAD
Tuition Fees:
Pre-Kindergarten (Full-Day): $8,370 - 63,863 MAD
Pre-Kindergarten (Half-Day): $4,465 - 34,068 MAD
Kindergarten (Full Day): $11,995 - 91,522 MAD
1st-5th Grade: $14,690 - 112,085 MAD
6th - 8th Grade: $17,085 - 130,359 MAD
9th - 12th Grade: $17,205 - 131,274 MAD
Medical Exam and Medical Records - Upon entering RAS, new students must provide a report of a doctor's physical exam. As of 2007-2008, students participating in middle and high school athletics, must have an annual physical by a doctor. This is for the students' health and safety. While we are still revising our current policy on physical exams, and have not yet set our new expectations, we encourage parents to get an annual physical exam for their student, and file a copy of the report with the nurse at RAS. We also urge parents of student currently in grades 5 and 8 to get a physical exam as their students enter grades 6 and 9, again filing the report with our school nurse. Medical records and shots must be kept up to date for the safety of our students. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

From the Secondary Counselor...
Senior Transcripts - I am bringing the final transcripts of those seniors attending college/university in the US and Canada to the US for mailing. If a senior is attending university in the UK and a transcript is requested, please contact Ms. Elabridi in the Secondary Office.
Student Visa Session - There will be a pre-departure orientation and student visa session conducted by the Vice-Consul, Visa Section of the US Consulate, at Amideast on Wednesday, June 18th at 3pm. If you have questions about obtaining your visa, do not miss this opportunity to meet with representatives from the consulate.
October SAT - Members of the Class of 2009 who are considering attending college in the United States please be aware of the early registration deadline for the October SAT. For paper-based registration, your forms and payment are due by August 22nd (prior to the start of school). Please stop by the Secondary's Office, Ms. Elabridi, during the week of August 18th to register. The online registration deadline (the most reliable method) is August 26th.
